RunapaloozaWhat is Runapalooza?
It is the PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year. Students collect donations from family and friends to raise money for the school. Students can earn prizes depending on the amount of money they raise during the two weeks before Runapalooza. The day of Runapalooza, ALL students will participate in a fun run during school hours. Does my child have to collect donations in order to participate? No, all children get to enjoy the fun run! Why are you raising money with this type of fundraiser? We have found Runapalooza to be the easiest way to raise money for the school. There are no direct sales fundraisers (wrapping paper, cookie dough) and every child gets to participate. What are you raising money for? Runapalooza raises about $40,000 which covers most of the PTO’s operating budget. It funds class field trips, classroom supplies, technology and family events at school. How does my child collect donations? Each student will come home with a collection packet that includes information about collecting donations online and in person. Please do not go door-to-door. This is a great learning experience for kids to call a relative and talk about their school or to record a video to send to friends asking for their support. What happens on Runapalooza day? Students wear their spirit shirts and during their designated time, the entire grade will go out on the carpool circle and run laps to music. Parents are invited to watch and cheer on their child! Every child will come home with a medal. Can I volunteer to help? Parent volunteers are needed throughout the two-week collection period to enter in donations and pass out prizes and on Runapalooza day! Contact: Runapalooza Committee [email protected] |
